About the Weekday School

Founded in 1963, the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Weekday School has offered excellence in preschool education for over 60 years. Rooted in a play-based, child-centered philosophy, our curriculum fosters a lifelong love of learning while promoting independence, social-emotional development, and confidence.

Our experienced teaching team—ten dedicated educators—nurtures each child’s unique gifts and growth. In a warm and stimulating environment, students develop academically, socially, physically, and spiritually.

Our newly renovated space features:

  • Five dynamic classrooms with learning and play centers
  • A covered porch for extended outdoor learning
  • An outdoor gardening center

Seedlings

 (2 years, 7 months by Sept. 1)

The Seedlings class is a first school experience for our youngest students. As we introduce these little learners to an academic atmosphere and classroom routine, emphasis is placed on nurturing the child’s self-confidence, imagination, and creativity.

Sprouts & Sunflowers

 (3 years by Sept. 1)

Our 3s Program fosters essential skills development through hands-on activities, creative art projects, engaging story time, lively songs and movement, and enriching experiences. We nurture confidence, creativity, and individuality in every child, creating a foundation for lifelong learning!

Full Day Options - Up to 4 full days (M/W/F and T or Th)

Oaks and Willows

 (4 years by Sept. 1)

The Pre-K Class is all about gaining independence and accepting responsibility while acquiring the skills necessary to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. Students choose activities designed to help them explore, discover & challenge themselves in all areas of the curriculum.

Full Day Options - Up to 5 full days (M-F)

 

 

A Typical Day

  • Drop-off at 8:45 a.m.
  • Pick-up at 11:30 a.m. (half day) or 2:00 p.m. (full day)

(Activities include: Free play with learning stations, Morning Meeting, classroom meetings, outdoor time, music, art, yoga, story time, and school-wide together time.)

Outdoor Learning

We go outside every day—rain or shine! From our mud kitchen and garden to nature walks and seasonal activities, we encourage exploration and discovery in God’s creation.

Extended Learning

Our Full Day Program (available to 3s and Pre-K) includes:

  •  STEM and Makers and Tinkerers Workshops

  •  “Active Kids” Sports and Gym Program
