Confronting Christian Nationalism
Monday, May 11
7:00 p.m. | Sanctuary
Join us for a lecture, conversation, and book signing with Dr. Matthew Boedy. Dr. Boedy is a professor of rhetoric and composition at the University of North Georgia and a leading voice examining the intersection of faith, media, and politics. In his book "The Seven Mountains Mandate," Boedy explores a movement within Christian nationalism that seeks to shape and control seven key areas of cultural life—media, education, government, business, religion, the arts, and family—to influence society’s moral and political direction. Drawing on research, history, and contemporary examples, Boedy offers a careful and accessible analysis of how this framework operates and why it matters for the church and the public square. This session will invite thoughtful reflection on the relationship between faith, power, and public life, and encourage faithful, informed engagement in our current cultural moment.
This event is sponsored by Confronting Christian Nationalism, a coalition of Presbyterians and other faith leaders in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Books will be available for sale at the event.
