For more than 60 years, the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Weekday School has been committed to nurturing young children through joyful, play-based learning in a warm, faith-filled community. Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of learning by honoring the whole child — supporting their social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development through meaningful experiences and purposeful play.
This year has been an exciting one for our school! We are proud to share that the Weekday School is now fully licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, reflecting our commitment to providing the highest standards of safety, care, and early childhood education.
We have also expanded our program to welcome our youngest learners through our new Acorns Class, designed especially for children beginning at age two. These first school experiences are filled with nurturing relationships, exploration, creativity, and opportunities to build confidence and independence from the very start.
At the Weekday School, children learn by doing. Our child-centered curriculum encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and discovery through hands-on experiences. Whether children are creating, building, experimenting, asking questions, or engaging in imaginative play, they are developing the foundational skills that prepare them to become confident, capable, lifelong learners.
Our classrooms extend far beyond four walls. Our outdoor learning spaces, including our garden area, provide daily opportunities for children to connect with nature, observe seasonal changes, care for growing plants, and engage in sensory-rich exploration. These experiences encourage wonder, responsibility, scientific thinking, and a deep appreciation for God’s creation.
Movement and creativity are also essential parts of every child’s day. Through weekly yoga, children strengthen their bodies while learning mindfulness, self-regulation, balance, and calming techniques. Music and movement experiences inspire joyful expression, coordination, rhythm, language development, and social connection, making learning both meaningful and fun.
Recognizing that every child develops at their own pace, we are grateful for our partnerships with local Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy providers. These collaborative relationships allow children to receive support within their familiar school environment whenever appropriate, helping families access valuable services while ensuring each child has the opportunity to thrive.
As a ministry of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, our connections extend beyond the classroom. We are honored to partner with the church’s Nurturing New Life Ministry, helping families build relationships and find support from the earliest stages of parenthood. Throughout the summer, our playground meet-ups keep families connected, giving children opportunities to play, grow friendships, and remain part of our vibrant school community long after the school year ends.
At the Weekday School, we believe that childhood should be filled with wonder, discovery, kindness, and joy. Every day, our teachers intentionally create experiences that foster confidence, resilience, curiosity, compassion, and a love of learning that children carry with them into kindergarten and beyond.
We welcome new families in September and accept applications on a rolling basis. Registration for the 2027-2028 school year begins in November, with enrollment priority given to current Weekday School families and members of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.
