At Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, we are honored to walk alongside refugee families as they rebuild their lives in a new country. Our Refugee Support Ministry is grounded in compassion, hospitality, and the belief that every person deserves safety, dignity, and a welcoming community.

How We Support
Volunteers from BMPC offer a wide range of practical and relational support, drawing on their own unique gifts. That support may include:

  • Navigating school systems
  • Assisting with job searches
  • Attending healthcare appointments
  • Providing transportation
  • ESL tutoring
  • Helping with basic home setup

Behind every act of service is a spirit of friendship and welcome. As volunteers and refugee families share meals, stories, and daily life, deep relationships are formed—ones that transcend cultural differences and often become sources of mutual joy and learning.

Many volunteers reflect on how much they receive in return—strengthened faith, widened perspectives, and a deeper understanding of resilience and hope.

Partnering for Impact
BMPC works alongside resettlement agencies and local organizations to ensure that our support is coordinated, sustainable, and effective. This ministry is a tangible way we live out the call to love our neighbors and practice faithful, compassionate welcome.

Through this sacred work, we’re reminded that true hospitality transforms lives—on both sides of the welcome.
