The church relies on the generous support of our members, with stewardship contributions accounting for approximately two-thirds of our financial resources. Your stewardship gift is critical to sustaining our worship services, education programs for all ages, and mission outreach—both locally and globally.

Commitment Sunday

This year, BMPC is reimagining Commitment Sunday as an opportunity for our whole congregation to reflect on the many ways we share our gifts with our church.

Inspired in part by the work of the BMPC Anti-Racism Committee, the Stewardship Committee has spent the past year reflecting on how to make stewardship more inclusive. This year, we are embracing a broader understanding of stewardship that includes time, talent, treasure, and prayer.

Financial gifts are essential to sustaining BMPC’s ministries, but they are not the only way we support our church. We each have different gifts and circumstances, and there are many ways to participate—from volunteering and serving in a ministry to praying for our congregation or sharing a particular skill.

“We recognize that people support the church in many different ways,” says Stewardship Committee Co-Chair Elliot Dee. “There are lots of ways people can serve the church and support its ministry that have nothing to do with financial resources.”

To reflect this broader understanding, this year's pledge card is called a Commitment Card. During both worship services on October 25, everyone will be invited to bring their completed card forward as a visible expression of our shared commitment to BMPC.

Take time to prayerfully consider how you hope to share your gifts in the coming year. If you cannot attend on October 25, you may mail your card to the church or make your commitment online.

Together, let us celebrate all that God has done—and all that God is calling us to do—as BMPC gives to the glory of God.
