A Season of Pastoral Transitions
With deep gratitude for her faithful leadership, we share that The Rev. Dr. Agnes W. Norfleet, our Head of Staff and Senior Pastor, has announced her intention to retire effective October 31, 2025. This marks the beginning of a significant and sacred season in the life of our congregation—one shaped by trust in God’s guidance and the enduring strength of our shared ministry.
In the Presbyterian Church (USA), pastoral transitions are navigated with care, prayer, and collaboration between the congregation and the Presbytery. In June, the Session appointed an Interim Pastor Search Committee, which will work throughout the summer and fall to ensure that interim leadership is in place soon after Dr. Norfleet’s retirement. The Session is also in conversation with our Presbytery partners to guide the next steps of this transition faithfully.
This is a moment to give thanks for all that God has done in and through Dr. Norfleet’s ministry, and also to look ahead with hope. We are committed to transparency, engagement, and discernment throughout this process, and we invite the congregation to join us in prayer and in active participation as we walk together into God’s future with confidence and faith.
