Since the early 1960s, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church’s local mission initiatives have focused on building deep and lasting relationships with organizations and congregations across greater Philadelphia, with the shared goal of strengthening and transforming communities.

In 1998, during the celebration of BMPC’s 125th anniversary, the congregation made a bold 25-year commitment to partner with churches and organizations in West Philadelphia to help make the world "a better place" for children and families in our region.

Today, the work continues through the Outreach Committee, which directs generous funding to local partners in three key focus areas:

  • Economic insecurity
  • Children and youth enrichment and support
  • Partnerships with neighboring and Presbyterian congregations

Committee members build personal relationships with each funded organization to:

  • Offer encouragement and hands-on support
  • Invite BMPC members to learn, serve, and grow alongside our partners
  • Explore creative opportunities for partnership beyond financial contributions
