Kristyn (Kiki) McKendrick

Kristyn “Kiki” McKendrick has been with the Middleton Counseling Center since 2006 and serves as its Director. She studied psychology at the University of Michigan and Secondary Special Education at Eastern Michigan University. Prior to joining the center, Kiki worked in London with Wandsworth Mind (now West Central London Mind) as a counselor. She returned to the U.S. in 2000 and later trained with Lauren Artress to become a Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator.
At Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, she leads the Worship Center and was trained by Olivia Stewart to train others in the Young Children and Worship program. Kiki brings warmth, creativity, and deep experience in education and formation to all aspects of her work.

Susan Neumann Gordon believes the role of the therapist is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can address life’s challenges, often encountered during times of transition. She integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities to help clients explore self- esteem, communication, conflict resolution, relationship building, and family dynamics. Her clinical interests include life transitions, relationships between parents and adult children, couples communication, cultural and religious diversity, workplace conflict, and recovery from infidelity and loss. Susan is trained in EMDR and has specialized experience with military culture and veteran families.

Dr. Julia Vahlsing works with children, adolescents, and adults, drawing on a broad range of clinical experience and training. She has a particular interest in treating anxiety, depression, parenting concerns, self-esteem issues, college- related stress, trauma, and developmental challenges. Grounded in a cognitive- behavioral framework, Dr. Vahlsing tailors her therapeutic approach to meet the individual needs of each client. She is certified in both Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which allows her to support both children and the families who care for them. Patricia Danzon brings a thoughtful integration of spiritual and intellectual exploration to her work as a spiritual director. She holds a Master of Arts in Holistic Spirituality and Spiritual Direction from Chestnut Hill College, along with a certificate in the supervision of spiritual directors from the KAIROS School of Spiritual Formation. With a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago and many years teaching healthcare management at the University of Pennsylvania, Patricia draws from a rich interdisciplinary background. Her interests include the arts, especially photography, and she offers both individual and group spiritual direction. Patricia is a member and deacon at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.

Rev. Betty Wright-Riggins is a spiritual director, ordained American Baptist minister, and staff member at Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development, where she also completed her spiritual direction training. She holds a Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary and master’s degrees in Educational Administration and Speech Pathology from California State University, Los Angeles. Betty is also an adjunct professor at Eastern University and Missio Seminary. With deep experience in spiritual formation, she facilitates clergy cohorts and leads contemplative prayer groups for clergy and laity. Betty sees spiritual direction as a sacred act of presence—listening deeply to those seeking to discern God’s presence in daily life.
